Ti-Lite with Zytel handle, from Cold steel knives, is designed to be opened in three ways: choose the thumb stud on the blade, or utilize the integral blade extensions-the small extension at the bottom for an index finger trigger, and the larger, top extension for rotating the blade open with the thumb. The top extension may also be used for "open on withdraw" a technique that involves catching the guard against the pant pocket or leg for instantaneous opening. (Use extreme caution when utilizing any "open on withdraw" technique!)
The Ti-Lite with Zytel handle features a 4" stiletto style blade (false top edge is not sharp) made of AUS 8 stainless steel that is 1/8" thick. The blade has a thumb stud and dual blade extensions for one hand opening options. (The two blade extensions also form an integral guard when the blade is locked open!) The black Zytel handle is drilled to further lessen the weight, and comes equipped with a sturdy full length stainless steel leaf spring lock and liners for strength, and a removable pocket clip mounted at the butt end. The Ti-Lite with Zytel handle has an overall length of 8 3/4" when open, and weighs 3.5 oz.
The Ti-Lite Cold Steel knife is also available with an AUS8A stainless steel blade, and a forged titanium handle with gray finish or blue anodized finish. Suggested retail price is $70.00.
