Everybody has heard the old saying "A sharp knife is much safer than a dull one." Of course this is true, if your blade is sharp then there is less force involved in cutting, which is a knife's primary task. Knives have also been used to chop, pry, and scrape, but these jobs should be done by axes, pry bars, and scrapers respectively. A knife is just a tool, but like all tools they need to be taken care of.
